Sam Hibbins to ask the Minister for Consumer Affairs —
Is the government considering reforms to lower the threshold required from Owners Corporations to sell strata titles?
Response from the Minister for Consumer Affairs
The Government intends to commence a post implementation review in 2025 of a range of recent amendments made to the Owners Corporations Act 2006. These include amendments made in 2019 to address the impact of short stay accommodation on residents in strata developments and amendments made in 2021 to governance arrangements for owners corporations. The review will provide an opportunity to also examine the suitability of existing requirements for collective sale of a building with an owners corporation.
I will have more to say about the review in due course.
