Sam Hibbins to ask the Minister for Roads and Road Safety —
With reference to the Punt Road Corridor strategy and the Minister’s response to Question on Notice No 5833 in May 2021 that “the government remains committed to the timely completion of the strategy; I am advised the strategy will take approximately 12 months to complete”:
(1) What is the status of the Punt Road Corridor Strategy.
(2) Has it been completed.
(3) Will the report be made public; if so, when.
Response from the Minister for Roads and Road Safety-
The Punt Road Acquisition Overlay review undertaken in 2017 resolved to retain the full public acquisition overlay, to effectively meet the community’s future transport needs and improve safety and amenity for all transport users.
I am advised the Department of Transport and Planning has completed the recent technical review of the corridor and is currently finalising its advice to Government. This advice will guide future decision making along the corridor and will provide greater clarity to property owners adjacent to the Punt Road Corridor.
